A very bold and buttery nose. Great candle waxy notes in abundance here with a big mixed fruit bowl. The fruit is fresh, crisp and very distinct with apples, pears, green grapes, and pineapple. Dry wood, honey and a bit of spice give the nose added depth. Good texture but astringent on the palate. Wax is the glue that holds this malt together. It makes its presence known while letting some of the other flavors make an appearance. The fruits on the palate are basically a puree with red apples skin and citrus dominating. The hay and dry wood emerge and contrast the fruit. Dry toward the finish with sour green fruit candy and more wax.
I wish the finish would last a bit longer but this had good structure and balance. B/B+
