Just a wow whisky -- incredibly grapey in both the nose and palate, and as decadent as whisky gets. Dried fruits galore, raisins, cherries, dates. There isn't a great depth of complexity, but with a Macallan like this, I wasn't looking for that... in fact, this is rather "textbook sherry" in the most stellar way. It tastes nowhere near 55.5% heat-wise, just flavor-wise. As for the price, well, that's another story... whisky can only get so good... but I think this is close to as good as it gets, as far as the flavor. No surprises, but just delightful.

N: Deep rich sherry, brisket, Asian sauces, orange peal.
P: Macallan's chocolaty sherry thickened and amp'd up but still dry.
F: Rum cake.
Freakin' good.  If I were the Sultan of Brunei I'd find and buy every bottle of this stuff.  (Don't you dare, Sultan)

Nose is butternut squash.  Palate is just a great velvety texture.  The flavor is just the typical great chocolate sherried performance you get from an old macallan.  The only ding is that is fails to distinguish itself enough from other really old Macallans or offer anything complex.  It's like an Olympian with one trick... who keeps winning gold year after year.
