Great sherry whisky.  Nose is pure sherry -- very pleasant, can't stop smelling it.  Paper cement, cinnamon rolls, madeira. The palate is spicy sweet, strong alcohol, complex, grapefruit, blood orange, sweet tobacco, kerosene.  Great.  The finish is short.  If it were bit longer, I'd give it an A-.  But you can just taste more to solve that problem.  Smacks you with flavor.

Overwhelming nose of sherry, damp wood, and a little mulling spice.  Just a hint of sulpher too.

The palate is a thin velvet that fills the mouth with a scotchy warmth that is strangely exciting and comforting at the same time.  It's the scotch equivalent of getting a big hug from a bikini model.  The flavor follows the nose exactly.  The finish is a hit and run.  I suppose it was a 2 second hug.

Great value!

Obvious, deep, rich sherry.  That's what this is all about.  There's some unmistakeable sulfur, but I'm not sure that it hurts anything here.  Great stuff for the price... if it ever gets here!!

N: Burnt sherry nose and a hint of something purple, like grape flavored soda. Cocoa.
P: Very clean and spicy sherry, really faultless, the sweet sherry and dry woody notes balance out perfectly.
F: Long, with the spicy wood notes dominating.
Low priced sherried whiskies (like Macallan 12) often come off somewhat weak on flavor, but this one comes on full force. Impressive.

This is one of my favorite bottles of all time considering the price-tag.  Deep dark sherry with great cherries and raisins with bubblegum and spices and oaky greatness that puts this over the top of the old Macallans I have had – even the great Macallan 1979 Gran Reserva.  Palate does not disappoint as this hits and stays – I can swill this in my mouth for days and still enjoy every minute of it.  The only thing this could have more of is a solid lingering finish which it does not have.  It is certainly there, but like most Glendronachs I have had it fades too quickly.  A longer finish would put this into the solid ‘A’ for me but instead I have to give it an ‘A-‘

Strong sherry nose, with hints of alcohol. Highly-sherried, tastes younger than a 15 year old, with a short, carmel finish. Somewhat reminiscent of Mac 15.

A muted nose with not too much sweetness, nice sherry notes and a touch of rubber.  On the palate is a drier sherry with malt in the background and chocolate notes.

Great sherry bomb, but its not a one trick pony.  Lots of earthy and musty notes to it as well.

Blind Retaste

N: Lots of dark tea, berry bubble gum and licorice

P: Good maltiness with cherries and dark coffee

F: Sweet red licorice

B+

N: Sherry, grape, Nyquill, maple syrup/mollasses, blood orange, a little chocolate.

P: Less fruit, more sherry, medicinal/sulpher, salty.

F: Spicy lingering on the tongue.

Steal for the price. My notes don't do it justice.

Side note: Was comparing to Macallan 18. Found the Glen 18 Rev has more flavor, is spicier, has a different sweetness - Mac is like a candy, whereas Glen is syrup/suger cube. ABV stands out more in the Glen.

n: pure older style sherry nose, scalded bing cherry jam with Tahitian black vanilla bean and heavy butterscotch. Very rich and deep nose with dark chocolate and tobacco leaf.

t: full-on deep sherry monster with heavy dried black cherry and tobacco leaf attack. Very Earthy (kinda musty in a antique/old book sorta way) with rich malt. Middle fades to the dark chocolate and rich wood fruit flavours. Finish is mostly leather and drying nutmeg spice.

Great nose, one of the nicer bottles available valuewise. [B/B+]
