This stuff is just unbelievably good. Nose of apricot brandy and cinnamon sticks (like 50 were dissolved into it). Not even sure if I'd peg it as bourbon if this was served blind. And just dripping with flavor, thick and chewy corn, cinnamon, roasted nuts, and toffee. It's astounding that a 7 year bourbon can be this huge. Why don't they make them like this any more!! Finishes with sweet corn and the finest tobacco, then the cinnamon comes back for a 30 second encore. Stellar.
Nose is strong paint. A good kind of paint, and it dominates. Palate is interesting and different. Rich and moderately sweet, definite oak, and very drinkable even though it's rather "heavy." Restrained spice comes in subtle waves on various sips. Finish is lengthy and rolling. This is rather unique and tasty stuff, and I like how the sweetness is really kept in check. Good mouthfeel to it too -- there's a decent chew to it without being overly oaked or tannic. However this was made, they don't make 'em like this anymore. It's just different, though unmistakably bourbon. B+
Retaste: Yeah, I'd love a bottle. Weird aspects of paint and skunk, but good weird. B+/A-
