Some fruit (apple and pear), faint peat and loads of waxy notes. I think it lost alot b/c of the low abv, but retains the old school aspect in the nose. Reminds me of G&M's Connoisseurs Choice line. Good but just lacking something to make it special. B/B+
I tasted this one under full awareness that our friend Serge Valentin over at WhskyFun has rated it at 98 points. How badly did that bias me? It's hard to say...
I think this is a nice whisky. You know, like... it's nice. Lighter and sweet, with a "purple" nose of sherry and mixed berries. Palate delivers on that. Finish is lengthy, medium-mild intensity.
