Nose: Spices and oak

Palate: Sweet with a good dose of rye, then menthol/medicinal.

Finish: Sweet and spicy: Cherry coke then the medicinal notes take over.

This starts out as very nicely balanced with sweetness, oak and spice but the medicinal notes dominate the late palate and finish a bit too much.

Some bottles of this are fantastic, others are just okay.

Slightly dark amber. Nose and palate are a little thin, but overall is nice and balanced. Good oak and spices. A little bitter, but not too much. I don't think you can go wrong with this, especially considering the price. B-/B [8/22/14]

Caramel corn through and through. The interesting thing despite that throughline is the contrast between nose and palate. Grapey finish, and though it gets a little too spiritous, I still love this stuff. I'd buy this by the case were it available near me... and uh, if I needed more whiskey...
