Nose has big, sweet sherry influence, fudge, and shaving cream in the background. Smoke is like a charred steak and inviting.
Tasty palate and, yeah, this is quite sherried, prune-y. Something vaguely sulfury and antiseptic. The smoke is really the centerpiece here, and it gets very coal-y and rich in the finish. A "dark" kind of smoke, evil and mysterious. Yum! It lingers at great length.
This is great and very heavily peated, but the sherry isn't the best it could be. All very "ME ME ME" and in your face, no doubt intended to be. I'd probably like it more without this kind of heavy, overly-sweet sherry, but I still like it a lot! (Thanks Bryan!)
