Nose:  Very weak nose, dry sherry, a bit of vanilla.
Palate:  Very sweet, like sugar shock sweet with muted sherry notes and a bit of mildew.  Water brings out the sherry notes.

Hot and spicey prunes with some heavy oaky goodness.  Nose is a solid A-.  Re-nose with water says solid A all the way.

Taste has great sweet strawberries, and dark spicey chocolates.  Sugars anda wow note.

Finish is longer than long and a fabulous ending.   Original thought was A- but after ading a drop of water, this just bum,ped wayup the scale into the solid A category......super swimmer - water not required but certainly recommended.

***SIDE NOTE***  This was one of the collector battle malts and I turned in my grades along with my notes for tally.  When I awoke the next morning (after passing out in the theater - I think I poured a bit too generously) and gathered my stuff, I noted an addition to my notes.  Five of the six bottles had comments that were...well...less than flattering.  One of two things occurred.....Either my drunken self wrote these comments without memory and in a handwriting that is less similar to mine than any drunken handwriting I have created before.....OR someone added them to my notes.....several attendees have adamantly denied responsibility and/or pointed the finger at others.....a drunken handwriting test shall be given following the next session to feret out the true vandal.  ;-}

N: A bit fiery, opens up to some licorice.
P: Pretty dry, tobacco, quite odd.   Not a usual sherry profile.
F: Gets dry pretty fast.
This one gets better the more time you spend with it, and I suspect there's more it has to reveal, but ya gotta take your time with it.

p:  Sweet and flowery

Sweet molasses and caramels mixed with candied fruits. I also got some incense out of this which made me think of Japanese whiskies. But it was toward the end of the night and I just remember really liking this.
