The CV stands for "Curriculum Vitae," as this is/was a vatting of various ages intended to represent (in some way or other) the full range of the distillery profile.
I like this whisky quite a lot. Nose of bright apple, with something floral like scented hand soap, and also a little tinge of actual soap. Palate -- yum! A burst of lighter fall fruits, with those apples from the nose, with a great spice mix (cinnamon most notably), some lemon. Finishes nicely with pleasing heat. Great/Excellent, B+/A-
N: First nose is bizarrely overripe smelling, like decaying fruit, and slightly butyric. The less desirable aspects fade with time. P: Thankfully the nose does not represent the palate, what comes through is punchy fruit with mineral notes. Really enjoyable. F: Lemon and wet stones (on the nose). This is odd stuff, but I really like it.
The nose is pure an malty with some Ivory soap. The palate starts tutti fruity and then malty. The finish has some sweet powdered malted milk and floral notes.
