Aged in ex-Islay casks - the barley is not peated. They buy their mash from Brains Brewery in Cardiff (makes of the famous Welsh Brains Beer).

Interesting that the medicinal notes of peat are there but very light. Almost none of the smokey notes usual in peated whiskies. The peat comes from an ex-Islay cask so I guess this makes sense. Similar to the regular expression but with that medical iodine peat tones in the background. I like it but this needs more time to mature.

n: Ashes in an orchard.

p: Very thin. Too thin. Faint honeysuckle at first but mostly cereal. I can almost pick up a little peat put I doubt I would if I wasn't looking for it.

Would make a good blend.

Fuji

Mushy cheerios cereal. Fresh squeezed lime zest and sweetened fortified white wine. Burning peat lingers.

Plastic-y peat with lemon water and spice. Waxy finish with vaporous alcohol.
