Nose of vanilla, apples, white wine, light anise, simple yet still inviting. Palate is pleasant, medium-sweet and medium-bodied, with vanilla, bakery/bread tones, gingerbread hints in particular, and light toffee. In the longish finish slight spice enters, and a light chewy-ness lingers... the whisky is lightly chewy in general. Though there's nothing spectacular here, this is good stuff in its own right -- super-drinkable and un-objectionable, it hits the "I need a scotch" spot solidly. B/B+
(And what the hell was this bottle doing sitting on a casino bar at the Encore in Las Vegas? What a nice surprise.)
