Nose of citrus, with notes of pine forest, asphalt, toffee, and floral wisps. The palate has sherry all over it, with some light sulfur tinges. This all crescendoes in the long finish. There's a number of similarities to the 1989 Linkwood Murray McDavid, but this one is much more sherried, though not as bright with the fruit flavors.
N: Pumpkin Pie, spicy and vegetal, green tomatoes. P: Nice integration of the sherry with the malt, yet mildly bizarre, like rhubarb with meatballs in tomato sauce. Medium Oily. F: Quite long, hangs on the tomato sauce note. I have no idea why Diageo doesn't bottle Linkwood as a single malt. Yo, Mista Diageo, please? (Note: I know there is no Mr. Diageo...anymore...he died in a freak lawnmower accident.)
