I can't stop drinking this. Probably because it reminds me of two of my favorite things: BBQ and bacon. The smoke in here is just delicious -- a BBQ ribs kind of hickory smoke, both on the nose and the palate. With, yes, bacon. Big in the mouth, but not overwhelmingly so. The sweetness is excellently balanced against the peat - fruity and citrusy, with lemons, oranges, and a sort of tartness. White chocolate too. All this continues in a very lingering finish that just keeps bringing me back for more. A couple drops of water do seem to open this up and turn up the volume on the fruit a little. This is a solid B+, but whatever intangible thing it is that keeps bringing me back means it deserves an A-. And at cask-strength and 14 years, the price makes this a great buy. Spend time with this one... the nuances will reveal themselves as you get to know it.
(Yes, I was too lazy to walk away from my computer and take a fancy picture of this bottle. Hey, you try taking professional-quality pictures of hundreds of whiskies.)
