This bourbon was produced at the Bernheim Distillery while under the ownership of Schenley Distillers. In the early 1980's the brand became very popular in asian markets (and commanded a higher price) so it was discontinued in the US. The I.W. Harper brand is now owned by Diageo but is produced at the Four Roses distillery. The Bernheim Distillery was rebuilt in 1992, and sold to Heaven Hill by Diageo in 1999.
N: Candy corn and an oddly enjoyable acetone-like solvent smell. P: Very oily and mouth coating, distinctive in it's absence of any strong flavor notes, just a pleasant sweetness F: Drys and gets slightly tart. Not bad at all for a 4 year old. If you find this dusty ol' bottle someplace, pick it up and give it a try.
