N: Apple, smoke, and peat, a little hint of bacon fat. P: Super sweet, delicious smokiness, almost creamy in texture. F: Follows through on the finish, sweet and peat, peat and sweet.
I don't get a lot from the nose -- white wine and smoke mostly. The palate is tasty -- mostly smoke with distinct but not overwhelming sweetness -- and spice, along with brine. Finishes at length, with salt lingering for a while. Though the proof is high, this tastes fine to me at full strength, though there is some challenging heat (that I enjoy). A little water tames the flames, heightens the sweetness, but also flattens out some of the other dimensions -- I think I prefer it undiluted. A tasty one, either way. B+/A-
