N: Very rich and nutty, toffee, wonderful... P: Spicy and syrupy, sweet, with a hint of dried apples. F: Sherry notes swell and sweetness coats the mouth. Excellent. Trying this one and a few of the cellar collections vintages has opened my eyes, there's a lot of A range potential in these older (The) Glenlivet's.
Oily sweet and nutty. Lots of fruits of the red/darker intense flavors. However, I could chug this one also. Considering the cost, not really one I would want to guzzle. Good stuff.
Nose of oranges, caramel, cotton candy, and toffee. There's also something like sesame candy, and something like traces of menthol. On the palate, there are deep cereal grains and light caramels, with a dusting of tangy spice. Finish is lengthy, continuing the theme in a slow fade. Really tasty, elegant stuff.
Rich sherry, chocolate orange, butter and vanilla on the nose. Palate is rich, raisin spice, chocolate and banana. Finish is smooth more of the same. Nice.
n: rich nose of figs, fruit cake batter, dried strawberry, and vanilla malt. On the fruity and mouthwatering side. Buttered toffee, dark cherries, and chocolate.
t: very fruity and deep honeycomb with black cherry juice with a backbone of toffee and dark vanilla. This has a nice density to it and full of rich flavors; while not over powering the distillate. Finish is oaky and drying to counteract the initial sweetness. Nice and malty with full and robust flavour. Cinnamon glazed donuts for the finish. A great whisky to drink with nice depth and richness. [B+/A-]
