N: Almonds, quite nutty, borders on nectary but the abv is blocking it a bit. P: Sweet up front with some light sherry and earthy notes, but then the abv takes over and blasts my palate into numbness...adding some water helps a bit, and coming back to this glass later the flavor was more pronounced, but still tough to detect any subtleties. F: Dry.
Nose of fruit, some spice, some Band Aids, and cocoa. Palate: Wow. Jam pakced with full flavors -- spice, sherry, some medicinal notes, smoke wisps, and quite chocolatey (bitter chocolate). Not sweet. A bit of an odd one and I like it because of that. Interestingly, this tasted much better as the first whisky of the night, rather than when I went back to it later and re-tried it (it at first struck me as a strong B+). So drink this first!
