Dried strawberry, vanilla wafer, caramel, and subdued smoke. Waxed melon with a lighter mouthfeel and body. Bacon fat char and some phenols to round it out in the finish of peppery citrus. Wish this had more "bite" to it (higher ABV), but it is nice overall and a great "gateway" Islay scotch.
Down the middle as far as an expected, good Laphriag goes, except on the skunkier side. But doesn't hit me as fully as the 10 year old does, which I prefer to this.
