The nose is malty with dry sherry and sulfur notes. The palate is dominated by sulfur, though not in an objectionable way. Behind them you can make out just a touch of fruit and sherry notes. The palate is a bit diluted (maybe it's lost alcohol over time). The finish returns to sulfur and some spicy notes.
This is not what I expected from an old blended malt. It's got a lot of character. Tasting blind I would probably guess it was a Springbank or BenRiach. The only real flaw is that it tastes a bit diluted, but it's very nice.
