NOSE A classic bourbon nose of caramel with hints of vanilla. Some cinnamon notes and something a bit like a low grade maple syrup. A knot of astringent dry-erase-like oak is accompanied by notes of something vegetal.
PALATE Caramel comes rolling out of the glass and even though it’s a bit hidden some vanilla tumbles alongside a gigantic ball of astringent, dry-erase marker-like, oak. Harsh.
FINISH
Watery caramel and astringent oak dominates the aftertaste and is followed up with some corn and grainy cherry-like fruit.
p: Is more subdued than most bourbons. The faint, almost creamy vanilla is appreciated but you kind of wonder if water took most of the fun out of it. It's sweet and bready, perhaps like a sweet pastry, and their is a hint of a lemon twist. All in all an easy downer.
