Nose of banana candy followed by bananas on the palate. Is this a Jack Daniel's product? At the end there is some malt and woody notes. The banana seems to have dissipated by the finish which has sherry, malt and spice.
Rich sherry character, with Banana Runts candy. Hints of burnt matches in the nose translate to spice of a sort of "Christmasy" character, with cloves and allspice and fruitcake (and yes, that's on my mind because of the season). Not clear why the other guys didn't like this as much as I did, something must be wrong with them.
A good Holiday malt with classic flavors that scream Christmas and fruit cake. Quite nice and considering the price point, this makes a great bang-for-your-buck bottle.
Intereting nose, with candy bananas and vanilla. Not as fruit juicy as some sherried malts. On the tongue, hey this is a solid sherried drinker, what else can I say. Good value. [12/11/15]
Molasses/spice on the nose, with the nice sherry/holiday/Christmas thing going on. I got some chocolate, cloves, and sugary spices on the palate. This is sweet nectar, perfect for the holidays. This bottle was included in a tasting with some pretty epic rare bottles, and the fact that we enjoyed it in the company of such titans ('79 Bowmore, '59 Glen Moray etc) speaks volumes to how great it is. And this is coming from a "bourbon guy".
