n: soft and delicious, corn bread with a drizzle of maple syrup. Fresh wheat dinner rolls.
t: dark vanilla bean and heavy on the oak and char. Middle has a dark chocolate and dry wheat bread sweetness with some clove and cinnamon. Cherry and more of the dark oak in the finish. This is a nice bottle. [A-/B+]
The nose is a classic. Subtle sweetness that with air opens up to a dizzying array of aromas: butterscotch, caramel, cinnamon among other things. Once it opens up, woah, sit tight and enjoy the ride. The palate is big. Classic WLW. Back-end is perfect, excellent draw and after-taste. Easily one of the better WLWs I had, especially of the recent vintages. Easy A- for me, almost gave it an A.
