Made by marrying together two Highland single malt whiskies that were matured in American oak casks that were previously used to mature bourbon. The fruity Highland malts, sourced from the Clynelish and Allt-A-Bhainne distilleries, were combined with a peaty single malt whisky from the Caol Ila Distillery, situated on the island of Islay. The resulting whisky is the most similar whisky Compass Box has created to its first every whisky, Eleuthera (production ceased in 2004). Only 12,018 bottles of Compass Box The Lost Blend have ever been produced. Three unique labels were created for this whisky.
n: dried papaya, white pepper, dry oak, with a hint of paper smoke.
t: creme brulee or burnt vanilla custard, white bread dough, honey hardcandy with a cohesive blanket of soft smoke. Malty middle with oak and hint of olive oil. Dense mouthfeel with caramel and a slight metallic note in the smoked finish.
