The nose is smoky with some underlying fruit, like a peach on the grill. The palate opens with light, fruity sherry notes that are quickly overtaken by peat. Mouthfeel is just a tad oily. The finish is coal in the mouth with some fruit notes on the nose.
Very nice, well balanced stuff. Lagavulin doing its thing.
n: tar paper, rich smoke, dried orange peel. Dried pear fruit, smouldering driftwood, fish brine in a tin cup.
t: Smoked peach skin that turns to coal dust and seabrine. Nice with the smoke and fruit with some vanilla chai tea in the middle. Finish is short and the fruit takes over at the end. Bit softer than expected in the body - I think the 43% hinders this. [B]
