Buttery chardonnay in the nose, requisite caramel and vanilla, chicken soup. Palate is medium-sweet and well balanced, as the nose advertised with a nice zing of mulling spices and dried fruits and berries. Big and impressive in the mouth, but not overpowering.
That zing really takes off and lasts in the finish. Notes of spiced cider become taken over by milder tannins and the dried fruits again, definitely some dried cherries. Honey Nut Cheerios as the glass goes on.
This is really great and somewhat unusual, the tannins are fairly mild and allow the spice to show through. The only problem here is that the high ABV does get a bit too alcohol-y after time. Not that I'd care about that in any kind of social setting, but I am being nitpicky here.
