Decided by popular vote via Glenmorangie fans. Non-chill filtered single malt finished in ex-Manzanilla casks. "Taghta", is Scottish Gaelic for "Chosen".
n: graham crackers, citrus waxed wood paneling, and butterscotch. Flan with heavy helping of caramel sauce on top with orange zest.
t: follows nose, but the sweet citrus really comes out (orange and lime frosting). Creamy and sweet with spice (cloves + cinnamon), olive oil, and a handfull of trail mix. Candied ginger and dried mango in the middle. Very quick finish that is stewed sultanas, honeysuckle, and dry oak.
Well-rounded whisky that comes together nicely, but stays on the safe path. [B.]
