n: sweet peat with enticing phenols of petrol mixed with bread dough. Green banana, white pepper, and burnt caramel.
t: initially quite sweet and robust that tastes of BBQed prunes. In the middle is where the oak shows and tempers the smoke and oil qualities that gives this complexity. This is dense and coats the tongue with a nice (almost industrial) peaty side and heavily roasted coffee bean. Finish is rather quick leaving smouldering tire smoke on a damp prairie. [B+/B]
The nose has light peat. The palate has raw peat, smoky bacon, a slight bitterness and then a touch of acid. The finish is bland on the tongue but has a lot of bacon on the nose. The smoky notes are nice on this one but it doesn't have much going on beneath.
