Nose: Oaky, polished wood, slightly tannic like old wine casks Palate: rich oak notes, dark chocolate, slightly bitter on the late palate with an intensity reminiscent of a heavily sherried Scotch. Finish: oaky, slightly bitter
This is a rich, complex, highly oaked monster that hits those aged bourbon notes just right; it's just shy of being over oaked, but manages to keep it together well, though the bitterness in the late palate is a bit too strong. It's very drinkable neat but avoid water, which brings out an unpleasant bitterness.
