n: Nice. Soot, cinnamon and a bag of pipe tobacco.
p: Leans more toward soot than the nose might indicate. Ashes, dry leaves and walnut oil. This one definitely coats the mouth and sticks around for a long finish.
This was doesn't stand above annual fad release bottlings, but it does stand proudy shoulder to shoulder with its predecessors, as usual, slightly different, never fantastic, but always a solid dram.
Charred oak notes with fresh tar/ asphalt. Bitter peat on the palate. Didn't get much in way of complexity and not much of a finish. Kind of all over the place.
