Big sherry on the nose. The palate is dessert, big sweet, sherry notes and vanilla, like a bread pudding with creme Anglaise, then gets drier leading into a finish of dry sherry notes. This is a pretty flawless sherry malt.
Good and classic Macallan sherry but just not punchy-enough for me. Plenty of tropical fruits and really sweet texture - but needs about 6-10 ABV points to get this to where it needs to be. Again, could chug this one.
Gorgeous nose. Obvious sheery influences and some grape/brandy notes to me as well. A nice drinker, but fairly straightfoward. Some tannins, lacking a little in richness to me. Overall, an excellent whisky though. [12/11/15]
