n: Initial malt, quickly followed by sherry oak, orange wood furniture polish, yogurt covered raspberries. Quite inviting.
t: Malted barley with sweet candied sherry and bit of cinnamon red hots and white pepper. Fairly dense body and a bit of oaky dryness and gentle spices, nothing overpowering. I get a bit of soy sauce & seaweed paper in the finish with the everpresent red berry jam sweetness. Old tobacco leaf in the finish.
Sherry cask selection really helps this whisky. GLS>T15
Vanilla cream, dry hay, heather and nice oak influence. Green apple and white grape juice. There are some mineral, ferric notes that remind me of astringent oolong teas. Bosc and green pears on the palate followed by a stale bready note. The mineralic note returns mid palate with just a bit of fudge. Finish is stale and doughy.
