The nose has everything, candy, oak, rye spice, the whole package. The palate has honey with plenty of rye spice, coffee, chocolate. The spice grows through the palate and the finish is rye and barrel. It's pretty hot, so water is a good idea, and brings out some deeper spicy notes, tobacco and brown sugar. This is a nice, complex bourbon. [Barrel 3-3J]
Deep copper-orange color. The nose and palate are both quite good. The nose has subtle rye notes, cherry, vanilla and some spiced oak. The palate brings on the heat and tingles the back of my mouth. Very creamy and spicy. The back-end has some bitterness. Nice finish. Warehouse BS, Barrel #3-2P, 58.3%. [12/13/13]
