The nose is very grainy with light caramel. One hte palate, it's very corny with just a touch of spice. The finish is peppery and slightly soapy. This is a well done bourbon which emphasizes the corn in the mash. The rye notes are so subtle that it has some wheater like qualities.
A glowing amber color. Sweet corn and vanilla on the nose with a little oak. The alcohol vapors linger a little too much for more liking, but still subdued enough to not throw me off the tracks. Razor sharp on the initial splash, but the sweet corn comes back and the spice takes a back seat. Very impressive finish, that makes me think this is much more than 43.4%. For the money, I think this is fantastic. Distilled: 5/9/03. Bottled: 12-20-12. Barrel #69.
