Palate: Woody, chewy mouthfeel, slightly bitter, then slightly salty.
Finish: Wood chips and the a sweet wood note (sap).
This is a huge fresh wood attack, but it works giving a sharp and interesting woody note to the malt. Some of the rawness makes it taste like it was aged in Tuthilltown casks instead of ex-sherry octaves.
