Nice nose if light. Stained oak cabinetry, apple cider, cinnamon toast, stale buttered popcorn, and something like spiced zuchinni bread from Mrs. Beasley's.
Weird palate. Yeah, definitely kinda weird. Overly sweet on the attack, then bitter, but still with lingering sweetness fighting. A total mishamash of bourbony fruit wood stuff. A little chocolate. And something like a strange corn and bran sweet muffin which I imagine must exist somewhere. Medium intensity finish, chewy and long.
This is really all over the place, imbalanced, and all very "engineered," and the purist in me screams because... well, I do enjoy it. Sure the flavors are all f'd up, but I like those flavors. It's pretty drinkable and I'd happily enjoy some if served. Seems great for a party.
Perhaps not suprising for a whiskey matured in four woods, I found this to be overly woody. There were some big bold flavor notes, but overall too much going on.
