Very light nose with lots of bourbon wood influence. Dry hay, honey and vanilla cream dominate the nose with lingering tropical fruits in the background (coconut, ripe yellow peaches, and mangos). A bit thin on the palate with lots of vanilla and spicy peppers. The spice is pretty dominant and I think it masks some of the lighter fruits that were present on the nose. I did get tangerines and nectarines though. Lingering sweet finish.
This was very good and I wouldn't turn down a pour but I felt it was lacking in some ways. Its at a fairly high ABV but it drank very weak. Subtle and delicate.
note: I've had this many, many times but just don't have many notes. It rates in the Tun range. Not quite as good as batch 3 but better than some other batches.
