Adam

Sherry nose with honey and nuts, butter, hint of paint.

Versus the 1962 (part of the same release), this one's about honey -- mead overlapping with sherry. Some butterscotch. Vanilla, maybe white chocolate.

In discussing this with the guys, we all seemed to agree: this does everything right, yet nothing to the extent that it dominates. Perfect balance. Good amounts of sherry, but not the punch-in-the-crotch that a rampaging sherry monster can deliver.

It's one of those malts that you could and would drink all night long -- probably forever if you could -- and never tire of it. A-/A

Fuji

Great sherry aspects. Not too sweet or cloying and contrasted well with earthy notes. Lots of the typical stewed fruits, dried cherry, plums and raisins here. Good texture and not too dry. I also got nice notes of salted caramel and vanilla as well. Lingering finish with dry chocolate.

Something you can sip on all night and will be emptied rather quickly. A/A-

Sku

Sweet wine nose with a slightly rusty note. On the palate there is chocolate with a syrupy mouthfeel, then sherry, followed by pepper. The finish, though, is pure sherry.

The sherry influence is rather subtle compared to some sherry bombs. There is lots of flavor in this one and it's well balanced.

Geez, had this at a major tasting. Just a great sherried whisky. Burp.

Ries

Milk chocolate and cherry jam. Ginger candy, creme brulee. Delicious and deep old style cask deliciousness.
