Very meaty! As in smokey charred cuts of meat sitting on a bbq grill. The smokiness on this is more of the ashy type. There smoke carries through on the palate along with winey notes and anise. I did get some sherry notes but they were faint. I was hoping for a bigger sherry influence that would balance out the smokey aspects.
n: dark fruit sherry, dry wood smoke, strawberry jelly. Rounded and sweet with peat smoked red berries and beef jerky.
t: sweet and peaty berry smoke; like strawberries soaked in burnt-ends grease. Red chili pepper flakes in olive oil middle. This is a really nice Bowmore full of peaty BBQ meat smoke. [B+/B]
