Nose of light sherry with a little varnished wood. Some brine.
Palate delivers on the nose, rich and oaky, just a hint sweet. It really gets exquisite in the finish, with peaks and valleys of assorted spices with a nice oak kiss goodbye.
This is just uber-drinkable while still packing lots of delicious flavors, I'd think anyone would love this.
n: Average. Wood sealant. Very faint candy (watermelon jolly rancher.
p: Roasted almonds and butterscotch. I gave this an A-/A on my first tasting, but in a more controlled environment I wasn't as thrilled. Little bitt of spanish cedar and indeterminate spice, somewhere between potpouri and cinnamon. Nice body, malty finish.
