Nose of resinous varnish, with strong fruit -- notably canteloupe -- and tobacco hints. Palate enters smooth and easy and sweet, but rich, with more melon in the background. This continues with woody/spicy notes with maybe some tobacco and ginger. The medium-length finish of good, rich spice has slight smoke notes creeping in. Very enjoyable.
t: honey graham crackers in liquid form. Nice malt quality to this, very sweet and full of golden raisins, butterscotch chews, and a nice touch of spice from the wood. Honey Nut Cheerios in the finish.
I can see why blenders like this. A very safe base malt with a clean honey nose and the taste to match. A bit too standard (boring) for my taste, but it's enjoyable and easy to drink.
