Nose of inviting woody sherry, the sort of shellac smell that's not uncommon to whiskies like this.
Palate is altogether a little flat for me. But on the other hand, there's an a whole lot of drinkers out there who would find this easy "A" material. It's just so easy to drink, yet still with distinct if not intense flavors. Mild raisins and dried fruits, particularly unsweetened dried cherries. Very little of the spice I'd expect -- it's there a tiny bit more in the finish. Also a little bit of soap there, but it doesn't tarnish things.
This is nice stuff, a sherried, easy-drinkin' party whisky. Not that I'd ever actually use it for that.
