Wow! The nose packs a punch. Lots of diesel, bread, and brine. Oddly enough I smelled a bouquet of flowers as well. Mostly purple flowers like lilacs and lilies. The floral aspect on this integrated quite well with the diesel and ocean breeze which was exciting as I could sit and nose this all day, but I really wanted to see if it held up on the palate. First taste hits you with all the goodness of Islay. Strong clean peat, charred bacon and campfire smoke. The floral aspects are pretty much hidden due to the strong presence of the peat but still detectible. Ocean saltiness sticks to your tongue as this finishes.
I tried adding a bit of water to this and waxier notes came out. But it just wasnt as good. It didn't have the vibrancy and kick compared to having it neat. I wish I had more! B+/A-
