Weirder and plainer than I'd expect given what this is, though then again there are a few oddball Ardbeg 60's and 70's casks/bottlings I've been able to taste... maybe there was a lot of weird stuff back then and we just aren't as familiar with that profile? Or I just don't expect it. I dunno, whatever --
Anyhow there's this synthetic, plasticky aspect, and while it's not overwhelming it's distinct enough that it's my overwhelming impression of this lighter but still tasty peater.
P: The peat is there but theres something lacking. It isnt as distinct or bold. Theres a bitterness that sticks the palate but eventually becomes sweet yet salty. Nice!
F: Candied sweetness
Overall a very tasty Ardbeg. Not overly peated but nice and sweet. A-/B+
