Since this is a very young bowmore, I was expecting it to be a bit more abrasive. The nose was delicate and had aspects of sweet lemon cake, tea, pepper, iodine and slightly floral. The palate brought out more citrus but it was sweet yet tart mixed with licorice. I thought that was it but then you get some ferric notes from oolong tea followed but a sudden emergence of warm peat.It finishes nicely with some spice but it doesn’t stick around for too long. Pretty refined for something so young.
