Nose initially seems over-oaked. But once it opens up, woah! Coffe and cream, smells yummy. Then it becomes a toffee, candy-isle-in-an-old-drug-store kind of thing. You know that smell?
Awww, the palate is fine but doesn't measure up to the nose. Not much really, kinda woody, then the medium-sweet typical single malt stuff that I'd associate with 2nd or 3rd fill sherry casks. Not much more after letting it open up for some time.
Finish is oaky, with coffee aspects returning.
Certainly an interesting malt, but I wish it delivered on the expanded nose. Good but no magic.
