Nose: Malt with light peat. Palate: Sweet peat notes, corn syrup, some chewiness in the mouthfeel. Somewhat diluted tasting (I would have guessed it at 40% abv). Finish: Beautiful sweet peat.
Really simple, really straight forward but really delicious. More enjoyable than interesting.
Oilier and sweeter than 6588, not as big and ashy, smoke more restrained. More spice and vanilla, a little hard fruit candy, tinges of rum. A fresh wood-smoke more than charcoal-type smoke. B+/A-
N: Lemon, light, briny Bactine-like peat. P: Some green wood on this seemingly light peated whisky, dry. f: Lemon sugar cookies, anti-septic gargle. A very medicinal peated whisky, tasty but a little on the light side.
This has lots of citrus, sea salt, mint and sweet toffee and mellow peat.
Taste reminds me of singed seafood on a campfire and spicy cloves.
The finish on this starts of very dark (tarmac, rubber, lead and black licorice) and sticks to your mouth and it changes to lighter notes of mint and cinnamon.
