Nose is astringent and hot, with cantaloupe, pear, lemons, a little mulled wine, caramel, vanilla cake. Water adds notes of hockey rink.

 

Palate is sweet and tasty, hot hot hot! A blast of mulling spices and vanilla, then citrusy stuff.  Water seems called for but makes it less fun, of course decreasing scorchy-ness and adding some sweetness, but removing much of the dimension that was here.

Not for everyone, this whisky screams at you that it doesn't need to be loved and it doesn't give a shit what you think... and sometimes, I think that's what I like.
