Nose of mild sherry (though I suspect this was not a sherry cask?), definite oak, someting like allspice, slight cheap pork hot dogs.
Palate is leathery tobacco, vague dried fruits in the background that show themselves more over time. Some tea. Tobacco and mild spices are particularly prominent in the finish. Pretty dry, but it sweetens a tad as it opens up. Water brings out a little more sweetness, dates with a bit of citrus, and I prefer it this way. A pensive whisky. B/B-
