Nose of thick smoke, graham crackers, mustyness. Smells tasty!
Palate is thick with the expected smoke plus powdered sugar. A massive kick-in-the-crotch Islay style, an excellent peat monster. I described the standard McCarthy's as "earthy cupcakes in a glass" and this follows suit in a better way. Frosted vanilla cupcakes with a whirlwind of smokey, peaty aggression. When you're in the mood, it's great stuff! B+/A-
N: Raw smoke and peat with a little green wood. P: Powerhouse smoke balanced with an equal sweetness. F: It's in the finish this really comes to life, with a cool mentholyptus peat that lingers long and satisfyingly.
