N: Plum sauce, beef jerky, something burnt, but not sure what... Definitely some wood but well integrated, spicy wood. Changes on you, now I get some buttery notes, green wood. P: Strawberry (really), but not fresh, more like a synthetic version, like strawberry Robitussin (do they make that?). It's actually quite dry but still a massive sherry bomb, which I think is what sets it apart. F: Has an effervescent quality to it, quite punchy, fruit dessert sauce. A very unique cask.
WOW is this fantastic. Super-fruity and deeply rich palate, with a spice-crescendo finish that also has a bit of a minty-fresh feeling. Yeah, that's kind of a typical description of a highly-sherried and very aged single malt, but this is the best embodiment of it. At least, one of the best that I've come across.
